Description
Enabled is a short narrative educational prototype where the player takes the role of a caregiver supporting an autistic woman by fixing environmental stressors in her room and helping her practice basic life skills through calming minigames. The game aims to build empathy and understanding through interactive gameplay and environmental storytelling.
Goal
The goal of the prototype is to create a calm and emotional interactive experience that helps players better understand the sensory challenges autistic individuals may face in everyday life.
Controls
You only use your mouse (left and right click)
Core gameplay loop
- Enter the room and identify environmental stressors.
- Interact with objects to reduce stress and discomfort.
- Calm Mrs Sula and interact with her.
- Move into a short educational minigame.
- Repeat the experience another day with different room issues and activities.
Vision
The long-term goal of the project is to create an experiential educational game featuring multiple NPCs with different kinds of disabilities, each with their own unique needs, behaviors and environmental stressors.

Players will explore different settings, solve sensory or emotional challenges, and participate in minigames specifically designed around each character’s difficulties and daily routines.

Through these interactive experiences, the game aims to educate players about different disabilities while building empathy and understanding through gameplay rather than direct explanation.
Future versions of the game will also expand the relationship between the caregiver and the NPCs through a more interactive dialogue system, allowing meaningful connections, emotional progression and character-driven storytelling to develop over time.
